Hi Everyone!

Thank you for welcoming me back.  I assure you that you have been in my thoughts.  Several changes occurring recently, have been quite busy and certainly, my heart is breaking about the disaster in Japan.

I know that we all share of love of AJ.  I wanted to ask all of you if it is okay for me to open a thread regarding other music that makes our hearts a flutter.

I did not want to continue in my previous thread and give the appearance that I am self absorbed, quite the contrary!
Lets raise our glasses and have a toast, long may the music play!

Please, if you agree post a link and share what other music you love.  As most have been painfully reminded, the previous big world now seems so much smaller.  My wish is for the world of music to become united as well.

Jeri, I am so sorry that I missed that you opened up a thread regarding this topic.  I logged on quickly before going to work and missed it.

Loved the Simpson's video.  Can't believe that I laughed so hard at a silly cover of one of my all time favorite songs, thanks for the smile!

Since we are on the subject of covers with music, I love these two.  The first is "Carolina On Mind" by Alison Krauss.  The second is "One" a great song by U2, but this time done with Mary J. Blige as the primary singer.  Can't pretend that I was a fan of Marys other music, but the passion she brought to this song demonstrates what she is capable of.  I actually like it better than the original.

Matraca Berg's, "Back In The Saddle" always makes me smile.  I betcha you can name the other lovely ladies in this video.  I understand that their husbands are in this as well.  I can only identify Martina's husband, John.

That is hilarious!

Cute-I think I recognize Hill, Yearwood, Hill, Loveless, but it's hard to pin down.. I'm sure they meant for it to be thus lol

Love the one with Alison Krauss "Carolina On My Mind" done with Jerry Douglas. Alison  they say," has perfect pitch was a child prodigy." Great sound! a great song for all you Carolinans!

I enjoyed Alison's Song very much..Thanks!

I understand that Mary J has her life together now & that makes me very happy. My daughter saw U2 in NY and she will never forget it..that was in the year 1984.
Watch for this young lady Sierra Hull from Birdstown, TN to Reign in Bluegrass ( she is great on mandolin and has won the
ultimate for her career.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_NFtgY4Rvk

You will rarely hear me use the term "OMG", don't like the way that the term is used so casually.  This is a true "OMG" moment for  me having just heard this artist for the first time.  Love to hear your feedback!

I'm sorry, I failed to mention that the last video link that I posted is for British singer, Adele.  The video states that she is #1 in 17 countries.  The fact that she is essentially unknown here dumbfounds me.  The morons that run radio stations should be hanging their heads in shame!

In Country Music there is plenty to love. I am a big fan of Loretta Lynn & Patty Loveless. Patty won a Grammy this year for her Bluegrass Album, Mountain Soul2. And Loretta & Jack White won a Grammy in 2004 for their collaboration on Van Lear Rose, one of my favorite Loretta albums- I also like her 20 Greatest Hits too. Such great songs.

I love the songs of Keith Whitley- may he rest in peace & what a loss for all of us. My favorite KW album is Don't Close Your Eyes. Also a big fan of George Jones & for  newer artists- both Eric Church & The Band Perry. They just happen to be the nominees for Best New Artist at the ACM's.

Proud to say that I recently discovered some great new country music to share with all of you.  The first band will remind many of Lady A.  They are from Scotland and are called Raintown.  Please give them a listen at raintownmusic.com
This band is going to be huge, I think you will agree after you listen to them.

The second band is McKinley and Beggs and you can hear them at mckinleyand beggs.com  This is a Florida band, proud to say that and I hope that I can get them to come to South Florida to hear them live.  They are authentic country.

Look forward to your replies.

Harriet, "The Foundation" is my favorite..Strange you put that, as I was thinking of it too..Love it!

My Family loves Adele's Music and listen to her always..Great Voice..She does TV a LOT here in the USA and I usually watch when she's on shows.

I have a Singer In My extended family I hope Pursue's her career.. She has her First CD  and plays several instruments and writes her own music..I will tell you her name when she makes the decision. She's just out of H.S. now . I can show you her photo for her cover.. (Edited Asked to remove for Privacy.)BTW-I Like the Band "Raintown"
I also Like the FL Band also,The main Singer reminds me of a young George Strait. I haven't heard them here, in JAX but there is not too much Country here or we don't go out as much as when younger ha! We barely have time to go to the Country Club that we did belong to, when my husband worked. They played mostly locals at Club Continental.
