I got the first pick Alan threw out.  It fell on the floor next to me.  The person sitting next to me and I kept looking for it.  She actually found it first but gave it to me since we had driven so far to see him and it was for my birthday.

We also got the playlists (2 pages)  and Monty found an extra T-shirt for Matt after the show was over.  THANK YOU MONTY.

I am still catching up here at home but will try to post some kind of review this weekend (after the marching band cavalcade on Saturday).

His daddy's radio is in a different area, its not a part of his exhibit.  If you find 'Taylor Swift's bus', (I think its on the second floor), where you can 'record your own song', the radio  is in its own little glass exhibit just before you get to her bus. You can see Alan's hand-written words to Chasin' That Neon Rainbow in there as well.  Huge thrill for us to see that!

They were shooting that day for about 12 hours.  Matt and I actually could've been part of the 'crowd' during filming if we had stuck around, but then we would've missed Alan's show. And of course that would NEVER happen since he is the reason we drove down in the first place.   We got some pictures of some of the stars of the show.  They were filming a 'red carpet' scene for the CMAs.  Chaley Rose (who plays Zoey) drove by us and rolled down the window and waved to us. We saw Rayna and Luke doing a scene,  Will and Layla filming a scene and we saw Juliette and Avery standing near the limos.  The big sign that flashes was changed to have the characters names and faces on it.  It was very cool.  We went back over after Alan's show to watch a little more.  The production crew was very nice and allowed people to watch as long as they walked around the blocked off areas.  It was fun to see what actually happens during a filming.

Am sorry I missed you!   It would've been nice to meet up with you and some other fans.  Maybe next time!
We ended up driving almost 2000 miles round trip in just over 5 days so it was a lot of driving for us too. We still had an incredible time!  Sounds like you did too.

Ahhh, I missed it.  But I am usually teaching while Jeopardy is on TV.  (And Rachel flew to China that day so it was extra busy).  But I am an avid Stephen King reader, and Stephen has mentioned Alan numerous times in his books.  Guess he like Alan's music too!

Just checking, but isn't Alan's birthday on the 17th?   Huh   My brother's birthday is the 17th and someone on facebook wished him a happy birthday on the 14th and then others did and he was thanking them and I was like WHAAA??  Did I miss something?? LOL

Cheesy  Wow, they mentioned Rachel's doll in the one article!   Thanks for finding that.

We just got back from another day in Nashville. We walked around and listened to many artists singing in different restaurants and just out on the street. We ate at Alan's restaurant for lunch, took a tour of Studio B and saw the Ryman Auditorium.  We went in the Wildhorse Saloon so I could show Matt the stage where Paul and I sang Chattahoochee many years ago at one of Alan's fan club party and won front row seats.  We stopped in front of the Titan's stadium to take a picture too. My menu from the Acme Feed and Seed got wet from the rain so the hostess was kind enough to give me another to take home with me.  I wish we had more time to spend in this incredible city, but we leave for home in the morning!

I hope everyone coming for the show on the 22nd has as incredible experience as I have had.

Oh, I WISH we could have met up with you and Betty.  We originally planned to eat at the Feed and Seed, but driving down became really bad Tuesday night because of storms and we had to stop for about 5-6 hours.  We didn't have time to eat there before Alan's concert on Wednesday.  How was the food?

We went to the display around noon today and were there at the CMHOF most of the day.  Kept looking for his 'daddy's radio'.  Finally we found Jeffrey, who was an usher at the show the night before and he was able to show us where it was located.  We are going to do some more 'touristy' things tomorrow, and hopefully check out his restaurant.

Have a safe trip home.  We will start heading home on Saturday.

Grin The show last night was incredible!!!!  What a great 55th birthday surprise it was for me.
Up close and personal. Great music and stories from Alan.  I will try to post a review later.

We are only here in Nashville for a couple more days.  We are going to go see Alan's display later today. We thought we'd go this morning, but the last week of getting Rachel ready to go to China and then driving down here from Philly on practically no sleep has caught up with us.  We made it to Nashville yesterday with only a couple hours to spare before the show started.  Phew!!!

So back to bed for an hour or so.  If anyone is heading over today, we'll probably be there around lunchtime/early afternoon.  Hope to meet up with some other fan club fans.

Lovin' it here in Nashville!!

ME, ME, ME.   Hubby surprised me for my birthday on Friday.  Driving down from PA with Matt who just graduated from college.  Taking 2 days to get there because its hard for me to be in a car for very long since the accident I was in a few years back.  Hopefully we'll make it down there ok!  I moved around and rescheduled most of my students so we could make this happen.

I need to go now because we have to get our Little Bitty Girl to the Phila airport in a few hours.  Rachel is going to China to study for a semester.  I will miss her so much, but it will be an incredible experience for her.

We are leaving for Nashville on Tuesday around noon, so I should be able to check message board before then.  If anyone wants to PM me I will give you my cell phone and hopefully we can meet up!

Hope
300+ concerts and still counting!

We were at Alan's fan club party when he was still working on www.memory.  He played it for us and said it was the first time he was playing it and that he was still working on it.  Part way through he had to  start over.  The band picked it up very quickly, and later that week he played it during his show at the venue.  This was in June of course and the album didn't come out until that fall.   It was really tough waiting all summer to get a copy of that song because we fell in love with it the first time we heard it.  Paul and I would sing it to each other, lol, but we really wanted to have the album with Alan singing the real version.  The day it was released we immediately started calling the local radio stations to have them play it too.     Such memories........................     Hope
