I'm pretty sure Alan doesn't do meet and greets anymore. I'm really excited about seeing Alan at an outdoor show. It will be great I'm sure!!!!
2  General Category / Off Topic / The Strayhorn's Joey Schmidt on: May 20, 2016, 07:20:55 pm
I saw on Facebook today that Joey Schmidt's daughter passed away. Joey is Alan's keyboard player and seems like a very sweet man with a wonderful family. I've never had the chance to meet the guys in the band but I know a lot of you have. He said she unexpectedly went to heaven. Let's lift Joey and his family up in prayer!

Just wondering if anyone else was planning to go to the ETown show. I will be there and so look forward to seeing Alan at an outdoors show. Should be awesome!  If you are planning on going tickets go on sale Monday May 16 and they are expected to go fast!  I called and talked to the event coordinator and she said they don't expect them to last long!  I plan on staying up late Sunday night so I can get mine!!  Hope to see some fellow fan clubbers there!!!

So glad to hear they are releasing a new single!  I was hoping for You Can Always Come Home but The One You're Waiting On is a good song. They all are!!!
5  General Category / Alan Music Discussion / Anyone heard new songs on the radio? on: March 22, 2016, 07:22:03 am
Just wondering if anyone has heard any new songs from the latest album on the radio. I'm hoping they will release some of the other singles to radio so we can at least try to request them. I would love to hear "You Can Always Come Home."  I truly think it would be a hit. I've been pretty disappointed in country radio lately. You rarely hear Alan and since George Strait has retired, I've noticed our local stations have played less and less of his music. It's a shame too. I'm tired of hearing the same stuff over and over again. Anyways, I sure hope to hear that more singles are going to be released. I will keep sending FB messages, tweeting and calling to request them. Still waiting for a KY or TN concert date. Hope to see a lot of you guys soon!!

Just renewed my fan club membership this morning and I'm so excited for 2016!!!!!  As long as Alan is around the Kentucky area I will be there!  I would absolutely love to see another show at Rupp Arena in Lexington. I saw him several times there when I was younger.  Let's keep it country all the way to the 30th anniversary tour!!!!
7  General Category / Alan Music Discussion / Alan NOT #1 on: July 28, 2015, 07:06:56 am
I'm really confused and a little upset this morning. I read an article that said Billboard made a mistake and calculated the album sales totals wrong and Alan actually debuted in #2 on the country album charts!!  Jason Isbell debuted at #1 selling a few hundred more albums. It said they released the statement late Monday. I personally think that's pretty crappy of Billboard. What makes me upset is the fact that Alan debuted in the spot ahead of this guy on the Billboard top 200 albums chart which includes all genres. How can he be ahead in one and not the other?  This just broke my heart this morning. I thought for sure Angels and Alcohol would have sold more than it did in the first week anyways, but a lot of fans on Facebook were saying they had a hard time finding the CD at their local stores!  I hope maybe the fan club can shed some light on this. I hate that for Alan, even though I'm sure he's very thankful for the fans who bought the album. I'm just not very happy with Billboard right now.

Does anyone know how it's doing on the charts?  I can't wait to see how many copies of Angels and Alcohol were sold in the first week. I'm sure the album will be #1!!!
9  General Category / Alan Music Discussion / Don't forget to request the new single! on: July 14, 2015, 10:48:01 am
Just wanted to remind everyone to burn the phone lines  and Twitter and Facebook up for "Jim and Jack and Hank"!  I'm determined to help Alan get his 36th #1!!!  I've never been much for Twitter, but recently got on there and have followed many radio stations and personalities. They really respond very quickly to social media. Alan did an interview with Blair Garner on the national America's Morning Show and Blair said country radio desperately needed this new music from Alan. He said he liked the newer songs and artists but country needs some country!  I have been sending messages out right and left!  I know a lot of people don't use social media so keep the request lines lit up for Alan. I really love the song and want to see it at the top.  I know you guys do too!!  America's Morning Show and one of my local stations have responded or gave a thumbs up to several of my posts/tweets so they are seeing what we put out there!

Does anyone know if this is the first single that is actually going to be released to radio?  I wasn't for sure if this was a preview because he has been doing "You Never Know" at a lot of his shows. I figured that would be the first single because the fans would be more familiar with it. Either way I love them both. And does anybody know when it's being released?  Just have to know which one to call the stations and request!
12  General Category / Live Show and Tour Discussion / Alan on the CMT Awards on: June 11, 2015, 07:17:05 am
In case you missed Alan last night on the CMT awards, you can go to CMT.com and the clips are posted under the videos section for the awards. I was very intrigued by the pictures posted earlier this week of Alan and Steven Tyler on Alan's Facebook. They were in a skit where Alan was being driven around by Steven as part of Guuber, the Nashville version of the Uber service. It was really funny!  You can tell Alan was having fun and maybe a tad embarrassed by some of the things Steven was saying. There are two clips, one with Alan, Steven and several other celebrities and one with just the two of them. Check it out!  I'm sure everyone will get a kick out of it if you missed it!  As always, it would have been wonderful if Alan performed, but the CMTs like to rock so that didn't happen. I'm not a big fan of Steven Tyler in country but I love him with Aerosmith. It looked like Alan had a great time!

This story has so touched my heart. What a sweet family and an even sweeter child. I knew Alan would do something special for this family, and I'm sure all that they experienced with their trip to Nashville and meeting Alan was way more than they could have expected. This is just one of the many reasons I love Alan. He truly is a humble man that cares about his fans. He saw a need and went above and beyond to meet it. As much as I love Alan, I have to talk about how awesome I think Denise is!  Like so many I have read her book and know she is a woman of great faith. How awesome it was for her to step up and have prayer with this family. How many people would have taken the time to openly pray for this family and claim healing for little Joshua!?  She is an awesome example and a true light in this world. I love Alan for his music but I support his career for not only the singer/songwriter he is but because of the person he is.  Alan and Denise thank you for being so supportive and appreciative of us, your fans!  I'm a fan of Denise too!  God bless both of you and let's keep Joshua and his family in our prayers continually. God is in the healing business!!!
14  General Category / Alan Music Discussion / Who is ready for Nashville? on: April 08, 2015, 08:38:49 am
So very exited about the show this weekend!  My birthday is today and it's the only thing I wanted this year. Hope to see many other fan club members there. I will be in section 1, row 4 in an Aqua colored shirt with my handsome boyfriend ( had to buy a whole new outfit for the show!).  Can't wait to see Foxworthy too. What a treat!  So very excited to be a part of the 25th tour. Alan is the absolute best. I'm 32 today and have loved him from the very beginning. Hope everyone has a great week and safe trip to Nashville!!!

Thoughts and prayers going out to the Jackson family. I remember watching Alan's Precious Memories special from the Ryman and seeing Mama Ruth and Ms. Nell holding hands together while he sang "I Want to Stroll Over Heaven With You."  Very sweet, precious ladies.
