We have seen similar things happen with a lot of other artists once they reach what the record labels would call Use By Date.
When the songwriters who are on the record labels payroll provide the songs, the label will give the new up and coming artists priority in choosing what songs they like. Older artists get to choose from whats left over.
The only difference I can see in this instance is that Alby is a songwriter who sings.(Very Damn Well I Might Add)
As long as you have songwriting to fall back on we will have many more years to enjoy his music.
Maybe he can team up with Hank Jr and give us a southern rock blues honky tonk album hehe.
All i can say is that he aint changed during his career so why now?

I don't think it was the case for Alan, He plainly said that he was offered" Chicken Fries" before Zac Brown did it and made it a Hit! He thought he had done enough about Chicken already LOL He is so funny.. Zac Brown had a Hit with it and I love their "Free" Song..I vote for "As She's Walking Away" w/Alan , as often as it plays here locally, but it seems not often.
Not sure why, it's a great song..Love the music too. They seem to enjoy doing this one and Zac has some talented musicians too, like Alan's Band.Alan usually writes his own work, but maybe that will be a change & let someone write him a
hit that he really sings well, like "Remember When" He took that song & made it his own..Great ear for music..voice is great!
