I'm 43 years old here in Mebane, NC. I took my college girlfriend to an AJ show as our first date in Winston-Salem, NC in 1999. I married that girl! About 3 years ago we went to see Alan in Raleigh and I took that awesome wife and my 2 daughters to see him. It was absolutely the highlight of my kid's lives! Their first big concert. I saw that he was coming to Winston again a few weeks ago and, as a fan club member, I went to buy tix. Y'all, it would've cost me almost $500 to take my wife and kids between the tix and fees. Again, I'm 43. I remember listening to Blue Blooded Woman on the radio and falling in love with this guy, so I'm a legit AJ fan. But I can't spend $500 on a concert that lasts 2 1/2 hours. I'm a diehard conservative and I'm not pouting about anything, but $500 goes a long, long way buying groceries, etc. For the FIRST time in my life, I won't be able to surprise my wife with a "go back in time to our first date" and my girls to see Alan in NC. This will be the first time I've missed him in NC. God bless y'all. Sorry for getting on my soapbox. But it was sincere....

I know this is a totally stupid post... but I'm a 39 year old dad in Mebane, NC. Is there any way to get a chance for my daughters to meet him? Dale Earnhardt and Alan Jackson are the two biggest influences in my life. I met Dale 4 times and have never met Alan. But my girls just adore him and I want to do something for them, even if I never get to! Alan is royalty to me and my kiddos!

When Alan came to Cary, NC earlier this year... the local radio station came out on stage and acted like AJ was the best thing since sliced bread (which we all TRULY believe). It aggravated me since they haven't played a new single of his since 2009 or so. So when Alan started his acoustic set and introduced this song, I yelled, "Hey WQDR, if you love him so much why didn't you play this song?" I said it loud enough for Alan, a few thousand fans, and most importantly the radio people to hear. Caused quit a stir and even got me a tip of the hat from Alan as I sat on row 5! This is a wonderful song and deserves a grammy to prove to the radioheads who dictate airplay from New York City that they screwed up on this one! Brad in NC.
