1  General Category / Live Show and Tour Discussion / REview of Pensacola, FL concert on: May 05, 2012, 06:00:58 pm
Smiley My husband, daughter, son-in-law and grandson attended the concert in Pensacola last night.  This was probably the best concert as I had more of my family with me.  We arrived a little after Lauren Alaina had started.  We were on the floor, right in the center on the 4th row....very awesome seats.  We settled in and watched/listened to Lauren Alaina.
My precious little grandson (who will turn 3 on Monday) was being held by his grandpa and was waving at Lauren.  The next thing we know she wants him up on stage with her.  We hand him over to the man in front of us and he is
lifted onto stage and Lauren is holding him.  The civic center actually got quiet and my little grandson waved and said,
"hi", then he said, "hi momma" or "hi mommy".  Lauren held him for a while and then gave him a kiss on the cheek and sent him back to us.
This was so exciting and unexpected for us.  Lauren put on a good show.  She is a very talented and pretty young lady.
Once Lauren was finished my husband and I made our way to the left side of the stage where we were escorted back to meet Alan.  I had won a "meet and greet" after trying many times.  They had a tent set up outside.  We finally made our way into the tent and got to set eyes on Alan.
He came up to me and shook my hand and introduced himself.  I told him that my husband and I have been all over the country to his concerts.  He then asked, "where are ya'll from?"  I said, "we're from Pensacola".  The photographer took our picture.  He told us to have a good time and then we made our way back to our seats.  It wasn't long before they played "Gone Country" and out came Alan.  The crowd and ourselves were very excited and up on our feet singing along.  My little grandson clapped too and watched in amazement.  He sang all of our favorite songs.  He seemed to be enjoying himself as much as the crowd was.  My grandson fell asleep, but woke up when he sang "Chattahoochee".  They even put my grandson up on the jumbo tron when he sang "Little Bitty".  We all had a great time and can't wait to do it again.  This will be a night I will never forget and as for my little grandson, "maybe when he's older he'll reach back in his file and pull out that old memory and think of me and smile"!  .

To Peggiejc about the meet & greet.  I am not a newbie.  My husband and I have been to 35 concerts all over the country.
We have been fan clubs memebers for probably 6 or more years.  This was the first time I ever won anything.  I hope you get to win soon because I agree, you've been a longtime member and faithful fan so you should get a meet & greet or front row tickets.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you're next!

Does anyone know when they notify you if you get to have a "meet & greet"?

I think your sons may have been sitting right in front of us.  There were two young men with dark/black hair and one was wearing glasses.  They were very  nice young men and said they were from Georgia near where Alan Jackson is from.
They had a very good time as well and my husband and myself did.

to countrygrl. Mobile is closest, Pensacola Fl. about the same distance. Gulfport Ms. less than 100 miles and often cheaper. New Orleans within range and you might consider it as you may be able to get a direct flight into there without going thru atlanta. Good Luck!

We also (won) got tickets and live in Pensacola. Looking forward to another great concert followed up by a trip to Charleston!

Livin on love
