Melanie, please come to the forum and let us all know if you were affected by the tornado that hit Alabama and how you and your family are doing. You had been in my thoughts and prayers, among others, all night last night wondering if your residence is at the path of the tornado. Continued prayers for you and your family. I posted a similar message for you at the CB board. Love you.

Thinking of you Melanie and saying a prayer you are safe. Just watching the tornadoes on tv is horrifying, I can only imagine experiencing one in real life. So sorry for the loss many are going through right now.

BHR,

It may take time for her to answer..it covered several towns close..and no power etc.. Lets hope & pray she is ok..
I sure hope Melanie is ok too. This storm killed so many. near Birmingham...Pratt City has them go through there a lot but nothing Even cose to this. we have seen where the Baptist Church was blown away before and recently built back on the way to MS.. none before of this magnitude. It was so wide, area wise..It is devastating. Prayers to all the people affected by  this and Melanie I hope has a basement and listened to the alerts. I have an idea where she lives but unsure if she was affected. the lines are down all over, no power etc.. so it will be time before anyone can build back.. Melanie might have to go to a hotel near them or relatives to use a computer.. so she may not have access for a while. I pray she is ok.. Alabama has had
problems with the Gulf coast the oil clean up, now this is tragic..None has ever been this magnitude.. lots of historical things recently happening, like the Flood in Nashville etc.the oil spill..now this ..

Prayers for all concerned..Obama went there and sent the National Guard, so help is on the way.. the cities themselves will take time to be rebuild. It was destroyed..and many places..MS lost some people also near my relatives, Near Aberdeen...Thank God mine were ok. Prayers for all,  Jeri_MS

Just now seeing this...Ms. "A" and OTHERS.....thank you so much f/thinking of our state.

I made a little comment on the other page regarding Aj's efforts to help out in our state of "TRAUMA"

Have 1 neice/1 nephew at The University of Alabama not to mention many friends.....as that killer tornado
came barreling through.

I watched it on The Weather Channel live as it was going through via the web cam
that was set up. I actually got down in the floor of my home screaming and crying as I saw that MONSTER going through
the town I'd just been to...2 weeks prior at A-Day game at Bryant-Denny stadium. I was on the phone w/my first
cousin as she was watching it too, just crying away, saying "Pray, pray, pray"........ her daughter is a student there;
I call her my neice since I'm so close to them! Luckily, she was on the U of A campus in the basement.

Again, I got so many personal e.mails from many of y'all here. I watched a funnel cloud go over the huge field here on
the river where I live. Thank the Lord it didn't form a in full shape but went on to materialize and kill about 3 here in Autauga County.

Y'all are some special people. I just wanted you  to know that; and I thank you f/caring f/all the others that were left w/nothing...

Melonie,
Thank God you are ok..I know you had to be praying. Thank God Your neice had a basement to go to.So many lost
material things and Everything they own. It was so sad the lives lost..
I prayed for You and your Family. I was so happy to see your post, I had to get online tonight.

Alan's and Everyone who contributed to that fundraiser was so sad . My husband had already mailed $ 500, and I was trying all night to get the phone to give, not knowing he had mailed it in to go to AL & MS. I saw Hank WilliamsJr. taking calls and thought it was Alan, I was running back & forth trying to get someone on the phone, to donate..Finally sent byo phone to the Red Cross.

Alabama's Song was so sad and you could tell they were hurt terribly over this. They have that building or Museum we stopped at once on the way to MS, where the Country House is..

I am so Thankful you are ok, we intended to go to MS that very weekend and changed our minds when we saw the forecast.. we usually go byo Birmingham & Cullman. I know this will take time to get over. You had to be scared.
Melanie thanks for coming on and telling us how you are..
Take care Hon and I'll keep praying for You & Yours, your State and all who lost so much.
Stay Safe & Hugs, Jerrie-FL and MS

Melanie,   I am glad that you are okay.  I know I am late in replying to this, but I haven't had much time to get on the computer lately.  There have been alot of storms in the United States this year.  We just heard yesterday another tornado went thru Mississippi and Kansas.  I have a friend who lives near Raleigh, North Carolina and she was about 8 Km away from one that went thru about a month ago.  Probably around the same time that it went thru Alabama.   We have been lucky here in Ontario, Canada, we don't get that many severe storms.  But I did hear we could be getting more severe storms this year.  In the province of Manitoba, they are having flooding problems. I cannot believe the disasters that are happening this year.  When will it all stop.  We do have to be thankful for everyday & everything, because it can be gone in a flash.

Melanie, sorry I came late posting this. I share the many sentiments of everyone here in that I, too, am so sorry that you and your cousin had been so traumatized by this weather catastrophe and had to go through that. You were the first one that came to my mind when it hit the news all over and was really greatly worried and concerned about you and your family. Glad to hear you are all fine. Thank you for coming here to give us an update. My thoughts and prayers continues for you, your loved ones and everyone of the victims of these tragedy and their loved ones, from Alabama to Mississippi, Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri and other areas that has been affected by it. My heart goes out to all of you.

By the way, Melanie, I don't know if you still recall a lady who somtimes posted at the CB board named Vi. She's from WA State and has become a good friend of mine. She called me recently and expressed her concerns for you too wanting to know if I have heard anything from you. She gives you and your family her thoughts and prayers too. I will be emailing her your message here and share your email addy with her, hope you won't mind. Don't be surprise if and when you hear from her. She's such a sweet lady and still have thoughts and concerns for all us at the CB board.

Take care, HUGS and love ya'!
